Date
September- October 2022
Tech Used
Figma, Illustrator, InVision, Photoshop
Problem
Users want a way to quickly view and cast the latest movie trailers across multiple devices without losing where they are.
Goal
Primary- Create a responsive website that will allow users to see and cast the latest trailers to devices of all sizes and pick up where they left off.
Secondary- Help users identify music in the trailers, companies that made them, and quickly view all the teasers and trailers for a film on one page.
Solution
A responsive website that collects all the info users want about movie trailers and links them to their local movie theater to buy/pre-order tickets.
Process
1. User Research
Personas and user journeys were created based on user research. Participants from diverse backgrounds were interviewed to determine what users could want from a movie trailer experience in a rather saturated marketplace. Participants were pre-screened to make sure they were frequently viewed movie trailers. They ranged in age from 23-42.
2. Wireframing
3. Lo-Fi Prototype
4. Usability Study
An unmoderated usability study was conducted with 6 users (3 male, 3 female) sourced from peer groups and social media. Users were asked to follow the flow of signing in, choosing a trailer, and favoriting or sharing a trailer from the video player
